Sharmili started as the City Administrator for Fort Mitchell, KY in May 2015. In this capacity, she not only oversees the daily operations of the City but also works extensively with the mayor and council to set a strategic direction and vision for the City. Along with managing a 6 million dollar budget, she oversees seven departments including Administration, Finance, Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks and Recreation. With a background in Community Planning and Development, she focuses on implementing various economic development projects through collaboration with business owners and in partnership with other organizations.

In her previous positions, Sharmili has worked extensively in the areas of comprehensive and strategic planning at the county as well as local level and has served as a liaison to various non-profits. She has always been actively involved with various efforts in NKY. She currently serves on the Gateway Foundation Board, is co-chair for the Horizon Fund Community Accelerator and on Duke Energy’s Advisory Council. In 2015 she co-chaired the MyNKY process to develop a vision for Northern Kentucky. She also served as the chair of the Northern Kentucky Forum in 2014.

Sharmili has been honored with numerous awards including the American Society of Public Administrators Greater Cincinnati Chapter’s career achievement award, Outstanding Woman of the Year – Emerging leader award, 40 under 40 award sponsored by the Cincinnati Business Courier, YWCA’s Rising Star award, Legacy’s Next Generation Leadership Award in the Government category as well as the first Skyward Salutes Award. She is a member of Leadership Cincinnati Class 39. Sharmili has a Masters in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from India.
