The City of Fort Mitchell will be celebrating Arbor Day on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 8:00am – 12:00pm in front of the Community Garden next to the city building, 2355 Dixie Highway.
The Tree Board will be handing out 14 different varieties of native trees via a drive-through with the option of walking up to the giveaway.
Enter from Dixie Highway and exit on Silver Avenue as this will be one-way during the event.
We will be following COVID safety protocols. Masks must be worn whether you are driving or walking (please maintain 6’ distance when walking up).
Tree varieties include:
American Plum (prunus americana)
Bur Oak (quercus macrocarpa)
Buttonbush (cephalanthus occidentalis)
Chinkapin Oak (quercus muehlenbergii)
Redbud (cercis canadensis)
Red Maple (acer rubrum)
Sassafras (sassafras albidum)
Shagbark Hickory (carya ovata)
Sourwood (oxydendrum arboreum)
Spicebush (lindera benzoin)
Sweetshrub (calycanthus floridus)
White Flowering Dogwood (cornus florida)
White Fringe Tree (chionanthus virginicus)
