CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Pohlgeers called the regular council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Pohlgeers led the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT
Mayor Pohlgeers asked Ms. Guenther to call roll. Council members present: Jared Arlinghaus, Vicki Boerger,
Jerry Deatherage, Jeff Dietrich, and Kim Nachazel. Dr. Alyson Roeding was absent. Mayor Pohlgeers stated
that a quorum of the City Council was present.
OTHERS PRESENT
City Attorney, Olivia Amlung; City Administrator, Edwin King; City Clerk/Treasurer, Amy Guenther; Police
Chief, Rob Nader; Fire Chief, Dave Slusser; Public Works Director, Nick Tewes; and Programs and
Communications Coordinator, Joe Christofield.
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Mayor Pohlgeers asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Hearing none, the mayor called for a motion.
Mr. Deatherage made a motion to approve the agenda, and Ms. Boerger seconded the motion. Mayor Pohlgeers
asked whether there were any questions and hearing none, called for a voice vote. The motion carried
unanimously.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Mayor Pohlgeers stated that there are two sets of meeting minutes to approve. Mr. Dietrich made a motion to
approve the December 8, 2025 council meeting minutes. Mr. Arlinghaus seconded the motion. Mayor Pohlgeers
asked whether there were any questions and hearing none, called for a voice vote. The motion carried
unanimously.
Ms. Nachazel made the motion to approve the minutes for the December 30. 2025 special council meeting, and
Mr. Deatherage seconded the motion. Mayor Pohlgeers called for a voice vote, and the motion passed
unanimously.
CITIZENS AND GUESTS
Rob Gebhardt of Avon Court stated that there is a fallen tree that needs to be cut up in the woods behind the
basketball court at Avon Park, so people can walk through the trail. That area is also littered with beer cans. Mr.
Gebhardt asked if the City could add a garbage can back there near the bench so the people might not litter in the
woods? Mr. King stated that that is State property, but a trash bin can be placed there.
CITY ATTORNEY’S REPORT
Ms. Amlung stated that Council will need to vote on accepting Greg Pohlgeers resignation from City
Council and then vote on declaring a vacancy. Ms. Nachazel made the motion to accept Greg Pohlgeers
resignation from City Council, and the motion was seconded by Mr. Deatherage. Mayor Pohlgeers
called for a roll call vote. The motion passed un
